The first time she set foot in front of a Nashville microphone, her fingers trembled with anxiety. After a nod of encouragement from a few members of the MuzikMafia, she began speaking, and proving herself worthy to stand on their stage. That night, the artist found her canvas. Born Jennifer Bain in small town Iowa, SWJ was given her name by MuzikMafia artists who simply wanted to set her apart from the other Jens they knew, Spoken Word Jen, became SWJ, and the rest is history. After moving to Nashville with nothing more than the belief that she belonged there, discovering a sense of family only intensified her passion, "Finding a place to share these words I'd had pouring out of me all my life was such a huge breakthrough for me, to find people who dig what you do, and want to see you succeed is an amazing thing."

SWJ can be seen popping up on stages all over Nashville, staying true to her roots on Tuesday nights at the MuzikMafia, or joining friends during jam sessions to add a little something extra to an ordinary night of music. She is nearing the end of penning her first book, "Pipe Dream" and will spend the next year focussing on getting it released to the public.

"I love spoken word, I love the art form, I love SWJ," says Big Kenny. "I have watched her grow into an immense talent and the best is yet to come. I will support her and her work until it's heard by the masses, the millions of souls that will be affected by her honesty and truth!"
